The hands behind the weave

Craft you can
feel.

Before a saree drapes, it begins as threads, a thoughtful design and many hours of skilled work. Here is a glimpse into the care behind handloom weaving and the finishing details that make each piece special.

From thread to drape

A saree takes shape
step by step.

Every region, loom and design has its own methods. These are the broad stages often involved in making a handloom saree.

  1. 01

    Design & planning

The weaver plans the colors, motifs, borders and pallu, working out how the pattern will sit across the cloth.

  2. 02

    Yarn preparation

Yarn is selected and prepared; when color is part of the design, it may be dyed and dried before winding onto bobbins or spools.

  3. 03

    Warping & loom setting

Long warp threads are measured, aligned and stretched onto the loom. The loom is set so the weft can pass through in the intended pattern.

  4. 04

    Weaving the cloth

At the loom, the weaver passes the weft across the warp and beats each row into place. Motifs and borders emerge through careful changes in color and weave.

  5. 05

    Finishing & checking

The finished fabric is taken off the loom, its edges and loose threads are tidied, and the saree is checked. Embroidery or other handwork may be added where the design calls for it.

Each saree carries the patience of the process and the hand of the maker.

A little about us

Rooted in Indian textiles.
Chosen for today.

Narirang was born from a simple belief — that every saree carries a story.

The name Narirang comes from two beautiful words: “Nari”, meaning woman, and “Rang”, meaning colour. Together, Narirang represents the many colours, stories and expressions of a woman.

Our journey began with a love for Indian handloom traditions and a desire to bring beautifully crafted sarees closer to women who appreciate authenticity, artistry and timeless elegance.

We carefully curate sarees that celebrate the skill of Indian weavers and artisans — from delicate handwoven textures and Jamdani-inspired details to traditional motifs and contemporary colour combinations. Each saree is chosen not just as a piece of clothing, but as a piece of craftsmanship.

At Narirang, we believe that tradition doesn't have to look old-fashioned. It can be graceful, contemporary and effortlessly beautiful.

From the first saree we selected to every saree we share today, our dream remains the same:

To celebrate the art of Indian weaving, support the hands behind it, and help every woman find a saree that feels uniquely hers.

Small beginnings. Big dreams. One saree at a time.
